Join us for a unique behind-the-scenes tour of The Florida Aquarium guided by their in-house engineering management staff sharing their experiences with operations of the Aquarium and the maintenance and systems involved in supporting the viewing public, wetland trails and wildlife as well as sea animals, plants and their habitats and exhibits.
We’ll start looking behind the scenes at the food prep area for the animals and work our way to the back life support and mechanical systems for the animals from the perspective of the Aquarium’s engineers. We will view the infrastructure and a/c units used to chill water and have an opportunity to get a rare view of the non-public side – walk above the surface looking down at the tanks and pumps -- and stop in front of the exhibits to view from the guest side. We will get an understanding of what it’s like to clean and maintain the tanks while working around live and dangerous animals. We will also learn about the Aquarium's conservation efforts.
You’ll gain a broader understanding of the Aquarium’s ecosystem and deeper appreciation for the animals that call it home and the staff that support it!
The Florida Aquarium is located in downtown Tampa and is one of the top aquariums in the country, with over 9,000 aquatic creatures, including sharks, otters, alligators and many more spread out over a 200,000 SF attraction.
Please note that our event is scheduled for later in the day to accommodate this special tour at The Florida Aquarium. Please plan to arrive onsite at the Aquarium at 3:00 pm for entrance and registration. This is a timed event, so please be punctual.
